The founder of the MPO Group

First MPO plant in 1986

A spirit driven by opportunity and vision

Born in Calvados in 1946, from an agricultural background, Daniel DELAMARRE obtained his fitter's qualifications in 1963 and began work in a small local company.
He went on the work for RENAULT TRUCKS, GEIGER and then GUY DEGRENNE.
As a talented fitter, he became foreman for a company at Vire.
It was at 40 years old that he created his own company with his wife and colleagues. The first tool shop, (formerly a woodworking activity), was 534m² in size.

With a capital of 25 155€ Mr. DELAMARRE, with the guarantee of his own house, had to borrow 106 715€.

The growing demand for press tooling was such that MPO rapidly grew in size and personnel. Daniel DELAMARRE requested aid from the Community of Athis-de-l'Orne and local administration to construct new shops and invest in state of the art machines.
In 1987 the company employed 20 people.
In 1991, with the construction of offices and a supplementary shop of 500m² the personnel grew to 35 People.

Diversity and complimentary : strength of the Group

The driving force of MPO is to foresee the evolution of the press tooling market and maintenance of the tools. Daniel DELAMARRE continued to create and acquire existing companies and created a synergy that was able to satisfy the growing diversity of his customers needs in the domains of the automotive industry, aerospace, white goods and general industry.

The small shop of 1986 has now became a Holding, GROUP MPO,
comprising 28 plants situated mainly in Normandy, Paris and Auxerre.
The GROUP MPO, with the objective to improve customers service,
has constructed a 'Green Field' site in Romania for tooling of
3 500m² situated close to the Renault-Daccia factory.

Springing from the initiative of a single person, the company now employs close to 814 people.
