  Ever since, MPO-Athis-de-l'Orne has never ceased to develop and grow, notably in the industrial zone at 'Carrefour Champion' and to take over or create
    the following companies :
     
  1992  

In July, MPO acquired a company at La Ferté Macé and created the 'S.A.R.L.' "FMO" France Moule et Outillage (France Mould and Tooling). The total surface is 3 000m² with 1 150m² covered. The company's main activity is the design, manufacture and tryout of

   

medium sized progression, transfer and manual press tools. Also, the modification and maintenance of serial tools and laser cutting essentially for the automotive and white goods industries.

  1994  

In July of this year, MPO diversified it's activity with the acquisition of the company  "SOFFAMO" Société Falaisienne de Fabrication de Moules et d'Outillages (Falaisien Mould and Tool making Company) at Falaise. The company employs 40

 

people and specialises in the design, manufacture and tryout of  plastic injection moulds (EG-Vacuum Cleaner Bodies).
In the same year, the social capital of MPO attains  457 347 € and an annual turnover of 4 878 369 €. The total surface is 8 500m².

     
  1995  

In August, MPO acquired a company at Lisieux and created  "LMO" Lexovienne de Mécanique et Outillage (Lisieux Mechanics and Tooling) that employs 35 people. The main activity of LMO is the design, manufacture and tryout of special purpose machines for machining, assembly and finishing of profiled stretch-formed or drawn parts. For example : dual station testing machines and water tightness testing and leak detection.

 

During 1995, MPO employs 48 People and the annual turnover is   8 537 145 €. The tool shops are extended and a quality control department created. A new company of 10 000m² is created at "Le Carrefour Champion" in Athis-de-l'Orne with 1 400m² covered, to serve as a capacitive outlet with high performance machine tools for MPO.

     
  1996  

The 'S.A.R.L.' "A2MO" Athisienne de Mécanique Moule et Outillage (Athis Mechanics, Moulds and Tooling) commenced activity the 2nd of January, employing 35 people.
A2MO manufactured standard tool and mould elements and precision mechanical fitting.

 


The company works for, MPO, FMO, SOFFAMO, LMO and other external companies.

MPO has continually grown to now attain 10 000m² in total with     3 400m² of covered space.

     
  1998  

"MPO Soumont" opens it's doors at Soumont Saint-Quentin and designs, manufactures and tunes medium and large sized press tools.

     
     
  1999

"MPO Champion" this green field plant of   4 500m² covered space commenced activity with two shops at Athis-de-l'Orne. The first "MPO Champion I" for large press tooling manufacture and the second "MPO Champion II" for manufacture of low and high volume pressings or pre-serial runs.

 

This year also saw the opening of "MPO Condé" at Condé-sur-Noireau which  machines and assembles pneumatic, electric and electronic equipment, notably valve flow meters which necessitate screwing, welding, gluing, crimping and machining of stainless steel and aluminium.

     
  2000  

Acquisition of the company "MGA" Mécanique Générale Angers (General Mechanics Angers) at Vire employing 35 people. The company is specialised in the design and manufacture of press tools of medium size and precision machining of medium to high volume components as well as industrial maintenance.

 

Acquisition of the company TECMETO at Cossé-Le-Vivien. Prototyping in 3D and VHS machining of plastics and light alloys with 16 people.

               
      The SOFFAPLAST plant is also created this year and is specialised in the manufacture of plastic injected parts from moulds essentially made at SOFFAMO as well as seating tissue moulding.   Together, these companies constitute the "MPO GROUP" created this year.
     
  2001  

MPO Champion - Pressings division extends it's covered area by   3 000m². In October MPO obtains the ISO 9000 version 2000 accreditation thanks to it's continual strive to improve. The MPO Group acquires 5 more companies :

 

The company ORNE DECOLLETAGE (Orne Turned Items) at Flers joins the Group in April. Specialised in turned components in high volumes for the automotive and white goods industries.

               
     

In May, the company Berguy is acquired and renamed "BMO" Berguy Mécanique Outillage (Berguy Mechanics and Tooling) specialised in medium to large sized press tooling and also blanking tools for the food industry;

 

MPO Savigny is created in May, specialising in pressings and assemblies for the automotive, truck, agricultural equipment industries;

               
     

In July, GRM near Caen at Douvres La Délivrande joins the ranks and specialises in the manufacture of inspection fixtures and prototypes for the automotive industry and also the machining of components in stainless steel and aluminium for the food industry.

 

ARMECA at Falaise is acquired in September and manufactures turned and machined components as well as fitting and assembly for mechanical part for DCN and the food industry.

     
  2002  

The MPO Group continues to grow with the acquisition of Daguerre-Pichard at La Lande Patry, specialised in the manufacture of inspection fixtures and prototypes. The company is renamed DPO.

 

In March the company DEAL at Alençon joins the Group, specialised in multi and mono spindle turned items in very high volumes. DEAL also carrys out centre grinding, roll forming, knurling and screw thread forming.

               
     

The 2 plants (Verson und Biéville Beuville), of the company TECHNIREAL 14  are acquired in June that specialise in the design, manufacture and tryout of plastic injection moulds up to 5 tonnes in size for all types of industry, (automotive, cosmetics...) and also master over-moulding, thermo-hardening plastics, dual materials and pressure casting.

 

During this year, SOFFAMO absorbs one of their sub-contractors. The company APO at Vendeuvre

     
  2003  

The company FMO buys PVO - Plastiques du Val de l'Orne (Plastics of the Orne Valley) at Saint-Georges-des-Groseillers near Flers and creates  "FMO Saint-Georges des Groseillers".

 

In March, the company AFMIP at Vire is acquired and is renamed MPI, specialised in medium and high volume machined parts.

               
      In November, the Group OPI - 3 companies join the Group :
OPI Ouest at Vire, - Design, manufacture and tryout of small and medium sized press tools;
OPI Centre at Auxerre, - Design, manufacture and tryout of large sized press tools of all types, single  and double action;
EPI Concept at Auxerre.
  At the same location as FMO Saint Georges, MPO Saint-Georges des Groseillers is created for the manufacture of pressings and assemblies, (riveting, welding, crimping...) composed of various components such as machined items made by DEAL and ORNE DECOLLETAGE.
               
     

This year, the TECHNIREAL plant at Biéville Beuville closes.

   

 

     
  2004  

In April the company DPO is absorbed into the MPO Group and becomes "MPO La Lande".

 

In September the company "AEP" Automobiles Europe Prototypes (European Automotive Prototypes) situated north of Paris at Sartrouville joins the MPO Group. AEP specialise in the manufacture of prototypes for automotive and aeronautical industries.

     
  2005  

In February, the MPO Group builds a 'Green Field' "MPO Romania", site of 3 500m² in Romania for tool making and pressings situated close to the  Renault-Daccia plant;

 

In October the company WAGON sells it's stretch forming machine department to LMO. This activity is re-located to Sartrouville and becomes  "LMO Sartrouville"

               
      The plant "MPO La Lande" is closed.   Before the end of the year, the Group MPO buys the 2 plants of the company SODEV Emboutissage, (SODEV Pressings). One is closed and the other at Moult becomes "MPO Moult".
     
  2006  

In January, the company "MPO Bourges", a plant of 30 000m² situated at Bourges, joins the MPO Group. The company specialises in the manufacture of pressings and assemblies.

 

In December, the company "SMO" at Falaise is acquired and becomes a plant under the control of GRM. This increases GRM's capacity and customer base in inspection fixtures, prototypes and machining.

               
  2007   The plant "LMO Sartrouville" is closed.
 
               
  2008   The plant "TECMETO" is closed.
 
               
  2009   The GROUP MPO has decided to fuse the following companies with the aim of rationalising and optimising their operations : OPI CENTRE with MPO La Buat becomes MPO Auxerre / OPI, DEAL with ORNE DECOLLETAGE becomes ORNE DECOLLETAGE Alençon , ARMECA with MPI becomes MPI Falaise and AEP with A2MO.
