Originally from Calvados, Daniel DELAMARRE, born in 1946 in a family of farmers, graduated in 1963 as toolmaker before entering a small tooling company in Vire. Then he worked for Renault Véhicules Industriels (RVI) and then in Caen in the Geiger company and finally for Guy Degrenne in the maintenance of machine-tools. Outstanding toolmaker, he became responsible for a tooling section in a small company in Vire, climbing up the ladder with the strength of his skills. He goes thus from team leader to workshop manager. But in 1986, noticing that the tooling market in the region become very promising, he chosed to invest for his own account by creating with his wife and co-workers his personal business. He then set up his workshop of 534m2 in a former sawmill in Athis-de-l'Orne.
For this company with capital of 25.155 €, he had to borrow 106.715 € and to mortgage his house. As the demand for press tools increased, MPO developed rapidly by hiring employees. Daniel DELAMARRE then benefited from municipality of Athis-de-l'Orne and the General Council aids for the construction of relay workshops, allowing him to expand and invest in modern machine tools. In 1991, the construction of new administrative premises and the creation of a new 500m2 workshop increased the workforce to 35 people.
The driving force of MPO is to foresee the evolutions of the press tooling market and the maintenance of this precision tooling. Also, through the creation and acquisition of existing units, Daniel DELAMARRE boosts the synergies of each of them to effectively meet the increasingly diversified demands and needs of its customers in the automotive, aeronautics, household appliances and large industry sectors. The small workshop of 1986 has now become a holding company, the MPO GROUP, comprising 23 units mainly located in the Normandy, Paris and Auxerre regions.
